Peter Joseph Setaro, 80, better known as Whistlin' Pete, husband of Ruby D. Setaro and a resident of Onley, Virginia passed away Wednesday March 1, 2006 at his residence. A native of Red Bank, New Jersey he was the son of the late John C. Setaro and the late Antoinette Arnone Setaro. Mr. Setaro was a retired vehicle fleet contractor for Verizon Communications. He was a member of St. Martha's Catholic Church in Bricktown, New Jersey and attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Onley. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Exmore Moose Lodge # 683. Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Antoinette Benisch and Bernadette Bowen both of Lexington, Va., a son, John J. Setaro, Sr. of Forked River, New Jersey and a step daughter, Ester Nicholson of Parksley, three sisters, Mildred Knight of Toms River, New Jersey, Dorothy Setaro and Nancy Raymond , both of Red Bank, New Jersey, a brother, William Sertaro of Red Bank, New Jersey, four step grandchildren, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Family will join friends Friday, March 3, 2006 from 7 to 8:30 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home with a Christian Wake service to begin at 7:30. A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Red Bank, New Jersey with interment following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, New Jersey.
