Peter Klein, 64, of Townsend was called home to be with the Lord on May 6th. Peter was born to Helmut and Henny Klein in Buffalo, NY. He was raised in Depew, NY and graduated from Depew High School. He enjoyed his job as a truck driver, which gave him the opportunity to travel and explore new areas. He and his wife Kim, of 36 years, have lived in Virginia for the last 23 years.
Peter was steadfast in his Christian faith, known for his devotion and faithfulness to God, family, and friends. He was a living example of following the “Golden rule” of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” with a humble spirit. Peter’s life was a life well lived, and he fully trusted in God. Remembered for his creative spirit expressed in writing and playing guitar worship songs, Peter loved Christian fellowship and was often the first to arrive and last to leave a gathering. He was a good storyteller, connecting with people. Peter was an intelligent and deep thinker who was able to communicate clearly. He had an intelligent, quick wit, a jokester sharing his joy of humor to lighten the hearts of others. An inventive builder and repairer of all things broken, earning the nickname “MacGyver”. Many will remember him for his kindness in helping repair the homes of those in need. He enjoyed exploring nature, wandering, and wondering where every road would lead.
Forever loved by his surviving family, wife Kim Klein; dearly loved and treasured Mother, Henny Klein; sisters, Christine Sundberg and Melissa (Verne) Prior; a niece; nephews; and great nieces, nephews, family and friends.
