Paul Joseph Spano, Sr., 91, husband of Judith Breme Robbins and a resident of Silver Beach, VA, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at Heritage Hall Healthcare of Nassawadox, VA. A native of Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Rosario and Theresa Groia Spano. He was a retired electrical engineer and a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, V.F.W. in Clayton, DE, and the American Legion Post 56 in Cheriton, VA. Mr. Spano was a musician and his military career included playing in a special services band. While in the Philippines during WWII, he played for General MacArthur and saw the final peace treaty signed with the Japanese on the USS Missouri. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Teri Stallone and her husband, Michael, of New Jersey, Kathy Brill and her husband, Stephen, of Maine, David M. Robbins and his wife, Eva, and Jonathan S. Robbins and his wife, Cathy, all of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Justina, Amanda, Emily, Ariana, Sophia, and George.
