Paul Kelly Hargis

Paul Kelly Hargis, 66, of Suffolk, Virginia, formerly of the Eastern Shore, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. A native of Jamesville, VA, he is the son of Claribel Kelly Hargis of Nassawadox and the late Paul E. Hargis. Mr. Hargis was retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections as an armorer and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Other than his mother, he is survived by two children, Jimmy Hargis and his wife Nancy of Concord Wharf and Ann H. Lewis and her husband Timothy of Birdsnest, VA., two grandsons, C.J. Hargis and Jacob Paul Lewis. Mr. Hargis was predeceased by a sister, Merilyn "Sis" Hargis. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore with Rev. Tammy Estep officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
