Nora Fowlkes Wise, 92, wife of the late Harold Chester Wise, Jr. and a resident of Richmond, VA, formerly of Cheriton, VA, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at her residence. A native of South Hill, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Lee Fowlkes and the late Rosa Glass Fowlkes. She graduated from Madison College. Prior to retiring from Bank of America, she was a teacher at Northampton High School. She was a member of Cheriton Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Richmond, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Debedeavon Garden Club. Mrs. Wise is survived by a son, Harold Chester Wise, III (Pat) and his wife, Vicki, of Eastville, VA, two daughters, Elizabeth W. Newhall (Beth) and her husband, Jim, of Hilton Head Island, SC, and Virginia W. Bell (Ginna) and her husband, David, of Troutville, VA, and a sister, Barbara Copley of Richmond; five grandchildren, Allie Jett and her husband Patrick, Wesley Jett, Jason Bell and his wife Sarah Katherine, Suzanne Bell, and Courtney Wise; four great-grandchildren, Emmaline Bell, Landrie Bell, Emory Bell and Madison Wagner. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Cheriton Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Charles Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Cape Charles Cemetery.
