Nina Mae Hovermale Pusey, 82, wife of the late T. Preston Pusey, and a resident of Cheriton, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Cheriton, she was the daughter of the late B. F. and Willie Hanby Hovermale. She was a homemaker and a musician. She was a member of Cheriton United Methodist Church having served as organist, choir director, and member of the Sunnyside Ringers. She was also the organist for Eastville Baptist Church and played the piano at Broadwater Academy and the Landmark Crab House in Chincoteague. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie P. Lewis and her husband Bo of Cheriton, and Brenda P. Floyd and her husband Bill of Machipongo; six grandchildren, Robbie Lewis and his wife Carrie of Onancock, Chip Lewis and his wife Jennifer of Cheriton, Will Floyd and his wife Megan of Carrollton, VA, Jill Floyd of Seattle, WA, Scott Pusey and his wife Heather of Ohio, and Adam Pusey of Capeville, VA; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas P. Pusey Jr. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 11:00 AM in Cheriton United Methodist Church with Pastor Lynda Moore officiating. A private family interment will be held in Cape Charles Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00.
