Nellie Powell Ennis, 74, wife of the late Carl C. Ennis, Sr. and a resident of Belle Haven passed away Tuesday Dec. 6, 2005 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Quinby, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. Powell, Sr. and the late Belva Young Powell. Mrs. Ennis was a retired supervisor for the General Electric Plant in Suffolk, a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and Exmore V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary # 4856. Survivors include five children, George Clarence Ennis of Portsmouth, Va., Glen Powell Ennis of Painter, Va., Carl C. Ennis, Jr. of Portsmouth, Va., Jo Ann Jones of Painter, Va., and Margaret Sterling of Painter, Va., a sister, Louise P. LeCato of Quinby, Va., eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Ennis was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Walman and two brothers, Ernest Powell, Jr. and James Powell. Funeral services will be conducted Friday Dec. 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm from the graveside of the Quinby Cemetery with Rev. Tom Durrance officiating.
