Nell M. Gaskill

Nell M. Gaskill, 65, a resident of Silver Beach, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 in a fire at her home. Her companion also died in the fire.

A native of Blounts Creek, N.C., Mrs. Gaskill was the daughter of the late Richard M. Gaskill, Sr., and the late Nell Gerald Gaskill. She was a security guard for Shore Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held today, Jan. 29 at 1 p.m. at Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore. The Rev. Patricia Kellam will officiate.

Mrs. Gaskill is survived by two brothers, Bennett Gaskill and wife Helga of Newport News, Va. and Harry Gaskill and wife Pearl of Onancock; a sister in law, Barbara K. Gaskill of Jamesville; a brother-in-law, Pete West of Silver Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruby G. West and a brother, Richard M. Gaskill, Jr.
