Nancy Womble Shields

Nancy Womble Shields, 75, wife of the late John White Shields, Sr. and a resident of Chincoteague, VA, passed away Tuesday, November, 5, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. A native of Chester, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Bagby Womble and the late Edith Pullen Womble. She was a retired businesswoman, President of Shields Enterprises and a member of Union Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, John White Shields, Jr. and his wife, Basia, of Chincoteague, and her daughter, Lisa Shields Chesson and her husband, Scott, of Chincoteague; two grandchildren, Hillary Chesson and Steven Chesson, both of Chincoteague. She was predeceased by a brother James Bagby Womble, Jr. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013, at 2:00 PM at the Mechanics Cemetery in Chincoteague with Rev. Maury Enright officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite # 3, Onancock, VA 23417.
