Nancy Barns Rock

Nancy Barns Rock, 70, wife of Louis Raymond Rock and a resident of Seaview, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Charles Otis Barns and the late Mary Vaden Barns. She was a retired civil servant in Dahlgren, Virginia. She attended Cheriton United Methodist Church. Other than her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Cynthia R. Stiles, and a son, Ronald W. Rock and his wife Marie, all of Cape Charles, Va.; a sister, Charlsie B. Crumb and her husband John of Oyster, Va., a brother, William V. Barns of Tasley, Va.; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daugher, Robin Rock Lassiter Burgess, a daugher-in-law, Rita R. Rock, and a sister, Mary Ellen Thornes. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cheriton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nathan Decker officiating.
