Video Tribute - Click Here Nadine Mason Gladden, 96, wife of the late Durwood E. Gladden and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 in Elizabeth City, NC. A native of Cedarview, Va, she was the daughter of the late George Mason and the late Annie Doughty Mason. She was a homemaker and a member of Exmore Baptist Church.She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Gladden Bowden and her husband Kirby of Elizabeth City; two grandchildren, Jill Bowden Koch and her husband Richard of Elizabeth City, and Heidi Bowden Thornton of Chapel Hill, NC; three great-grandchildren, Michael Thornton, Wyatt Thornton, and Kirby Thornton, all of Chapel Hill, NC. She was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Sterling and Edith Johnson.A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, February 6th, at 2:00 PM at Exmore Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Carpenter and Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will receive friends following the service at her residence, 3069 Main Street, Exmore.
