Morris G. Doughty

Morris Garland Doughty, 86, husband of Mary Mears Doughty and a resident of Willis Wharf, passed away Saturday evening at his residence. A native of Hog Island, he was the son of the late Garland Moor and Hattie Elizabeth Doughty. He was a retired district manager for Delmarva Power, retiring in 1979, member of the Exmore Baptist Church, Past Master and member of Broadwater Masonic Lodge #71 AF&AM, and member of Delmarva Power 25 Year Club. Other than his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Paige Doughty of Norfolk; five grandchildren, David L. Doughty, Jr. and his wife Cathryn of Cape Charles, William T. Doughty and his wife Alexis of Cape Charles, Matthew S. Warren and wife Fran of West Point, Morris Guy Warren of Quinby, and Channing Perdue and husband Brandon of Ft. Bragg, NC; two great grandchildren, Charlie Warren and Ashlyn Perdue. Mr. Doughty was predeceased by his first wife, Ada Lee Smith Doughty, a son, David L. Doughty, Sr. and a daughter, Gail D. Warren. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 1:00 PM in Exmore Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Carpenter and Rev. Darrell Webb officiating. Interment will be private.
