Mila Dean Spence

Mila Dean Spence, 82, wife of the late Richard Thomas Spence II and a resident of Nassawadox, VA, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Heritage Hall Healthcare. A native of South Chesconnessex,VA, she was the daughter of the late Edmund Stokes and the late Ella Pearl Harris Stokes. She retired from Exmore Foods as a production line worker. She is survived by three children, Wilma Powell of Melfa, VA, Mary Catherine Richardson and her husband, Jerry, of Exmore, Richard Thomas "Ricky" Spence III of Gargatha; two grandchildren, Christina Nicoll of PA, Elmer David Powell of Exmore; four great-grandchildren, Myra, Dale, Myla, Mara Nicoll; and numerous nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joel Stokes. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Carpenter officiating. A viewing will be held at the Doughty Funeral Home Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00.
