Mary Ellen Van Nest

Mary Ellen Smith Van Nest, 89, wife of Robert Charles Van Nest, III and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015, at her residence. A native of Wurtsboro, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry Smith and the late Nellie Harris Smith. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, NY.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Robert C. Van Nest, IV and his wife, Joyce, of Milford, PA, Frank Van Nest of Davenport, FL, Richard F. Van Nest of Exmore; two grandchildren, Tina Lynn Chance of Lotz, FL, Ashley Kleckley of Ridgeland, SC, four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Sabrina, Hudson, Emily Elizabeth; a niece, Carrie Simpson and great nephew, Anthony Simpson, both of Monticello; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Rev. James W. Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
