Mary M. Mears

Mrs. Mary M. Mears, 65, wife of Dean Mears and a resident of Exmore passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Belle Haven she was the daughter of the late Louis Stewart Shield Sr. and the late Dorothy Martin Whaley Shield. She was a member of Exmore Baptist Church and a member of the Exmore Women of the Moose Lodge #1349. Other than her husband she is survived by two sons, Ray Mears and his Fiancee` Beth Hill, Tony Martin Mears all of Exmore, Va.; a daughter, Sheryl Dean Mears of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Stewart Shield of Wardtown, Va.; three grandchildren, Ricky Lee, Wayne, and Amber Michelle Reed. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 18th at 3:00 PM from the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Mr. Mitchell Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Monday evening from 7 to 8:30.
