Mary V. Barns

Mrs. Mary Vaden Barns, 90, wife of the late C. Otis Barns and a resident of Seaview passed away Friday July 7, 2006 at her residence. A native of Blacksburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Luther Edward Vaden and the late Margie Grissom Vaden Giles. Mrs. Barns was a retired nursing companion, a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church and charter member of the Pocahontas Council #16, Capeville, Va. Mrs. Barns is survived by three children; Charlsie B. Crumb and her husband John of Oyster, Nancy B. Rock and her husband Louis of Seaview and William V. Barns of Tasley, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Barns was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ellen Thornes and four sisters. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside of the Cape Charles Cemetery Monday July 10th at 11:00 am with the Rev. Nathan Decker officiating.
