Mary F. Baines

Mary F. Baines, 76, a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Arcadia Nursing Home in Nelsonia, VA. She was born in Disputanta, VA. She was the sixth of eight children born to the late Thomas Allen Jones and the late Lillian Beatrice Hunt Jones. She was a graduate of Norfolk State University with a degree in Elementary Education, teacher for Accomack County Public Schools for 30 years, and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Sherra Warthen and her husband, Timothy, of Edgewater Park, NJ, two sisters, Evelyn Jones of Brooklyn, NY, Lillian Perry of Washington, DC, two brothers, Thomas Earl Jones of Upper Marlboro, MD, Joe Louis Jones of Hopewell, VA, a niece, Karen McNeely of Brooklyn, and a host of other relatives. A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend M. Palmer Bunting officiating.
