Marty Parks

John Martin Parks, Jr., 58, husband of Jo-Ann Broadwater Parks and a resident of Cheriton, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Birdsnest, VA, he was the son of the late John Martin Parks, Sr. and the late Anna Mae Isdell Parks. He was employed by the Herbert Senn Company and a member of Eastville Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two children, Richard Edward Parks of Cheriton, Jo Ann Downs of Cheriton; a sister, Janet P. Hickman and her husband, David, of Quinby, VA; a brother, Jackie M. Parks and his wife, Linda, of Wardtown, VA and two grandchildren, Michael Jacob Downs and Brayden James Downs, both of Cheriton.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Glenda Turlington officiating. Family will join friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Charles Rescue Service, P.O. Box 3009, Cheriton, VA 23316 or to Eastern Shore of Virginia Habitat for Humanity, P. O. Box 1299, Exmore, VA 23350.
