Martha Francis Thom

Martha Francis Thom, 64, wife of Herbert "Herb" Thom and a resident of Belle Haven, lost her battle with lung cancer June 18, 2007 in her home. Born May 5, 1943 in Baltimore Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Eckenrode and the late Marion Alice Eckenrode. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Onley, and a registered nurse who cared for pediatric and geriatric patients. Martha devoted her life to the care and happiness of her family through all the vicissitudes of life. Other than her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Katherine Thom Beasley and her husband, Zeb of Jacksonville, N.C., two sisters, Elizabeth Hale of Millington, TN and Jane McCullough of Wachapreague, Va., and a granddaughter, Marion Alice Beasley. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM from St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Francisco Valle officiating.
