Martha Fisher Rolley

Martha Anderson Fisher Rolley, 95, wife of the late Francis V. "Drag" Rolley and a resident of Cheriton, VA, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Capeville, Va, she was the daughter of the late Mary Toy "Muh" Fisher and the late Tully Garrison Fisher. Martha was known as "Boo" to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Martha was an active member in Cheriton United Methodist Church, the Northampton Chapter #2 Order of Eastern Star and was a lifetime career woman. She was a legal secretary for many years and served as Clerk of Court for Northampton County, all the while keeping books for her husband's businesses. Martha had a sharp mind and always enjoyed a good game of bridge. Her family always relied on her for instant and accurate answers to questions on geometry. She will be missed. Martha is survived by her children, Diane Rolley Partin and her husband, David, and Francis Vernon "Bernie" Rolley, Jr. and his wife, Penny, all of Cheriton; her grandchildren, Meghan Rolley Neville, Stacie Partin Mozer, and Tyler Partin Van Marter; step-grandchildren, April Queck Hart, James Queck, and Jesse Queck; a loving niece, Martha Toy Shreeves Scott, as well as nine charming, sweet and smart great-grandchildren, and a fun and interesting extended family. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Sarah Louise Fisher Shreeves; brother-in-law, Wilson Nottingham Shreeves and her dear niece, Margaret Wilson "Peggy" Shreeves Rippon. A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 23, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Conrow and Mr. Barry Downing officiating.
