Marion S. Scott, Jr., affectionately known as Scotty or Bub by his family and friends, died on Christmas Eve, 2018, surrounded by family. An Eastern Shore native and life-long farmer of his beloved Riverside Farms in Seaview, Scotty will be remembered for his charm, his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye. He was an avid bird and duck hunter, a recreational pilot and the epitome of a southern gentleman. He was always ready for a game of cards or dominoes and loved being with his friends and family.
Scotty was predeceased by his parents, Fannie Nottingham and Marion S. Scott; his wife, Gayhlia Walter Scott; and his sister, Betty Scott Jones. He is survived by two sons, Richard J. Scott and wife, Rene, of Richmond, and William D. Scott and wife, Alice, of Ivor; three grandchildren, Ashlyn Scott Scarborough and husband, Robert, W. Dustin Scott and wife, Alexandra, all of Ivor, and Rebecca Scott of Richmond; a great-granddaughter, Briar Grace Scarborough of Ivor; a sister, Kate Scott Jacob of Onancock; and longtime companion, Bonnie Nottingham.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted Sunday, January 20, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Eugene Soud officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family following the service at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Scotty.
The family expresses gratitude for the care and support from the staff at The Garden at Magnolia Manor Smithfield.
