Marguerite Miles Sturgis, 87, of Kenneth Square, Pa passed away Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Linden Hall, Kennett Square, Pa. Born and raised in the fishing village of Willis Wharf on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, into the family of Alfred and Minnie Miles with three sisters and a brother, she was the last surviving sibling. Being a true child of the depression shaped her strongly disciplined life. She married James Francis Sturgis in 1938 and relocated to Bear, De, then to Unionville, Pa. where the family grew to 4 children. Later she started a 20 year career as a nurse's aide at Pocopson Home. Husband, Francis, predeceased her in 1984 and she retried back to Willis Wharf. With ensuing heart problems, her last years were spent in Friend's Home and Linden Hall in Kennett Square, Pa. She is survived by three daughters and one son: Rosalie Miles ., wife of Thomas H. Sponaugle of Venice, Fl., Virginia Sue Rees of Edmond, Ok., James Francis Sturgis, Jr., husband of Loretta H. of Landenberg, Pa., Barbara Anne Sturgis of Christiana, Pa.; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Close family also include brother-in-law John Sturgis and wife, Charlene of New Holland, Pa. Funeral services will be held May, 24, 2006 at 7:00 PM from the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, Inc., 250 West Street, Kenneth Square, Pa. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 25 at 1:00 PM from the Belle Haven Cemetery.
