Margaret Mears Vass

Margaret Mears Vass, 91, a resident of Saltworks, VA, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. She was the daughter of the late Ernest L. Mears and the late Elizabeth Beloat Mears. She was a retired manager of the Virginia Employment Commission office with over 50 years of service, a member and trustee of Bethel United Methodist Church, a member of the Northampton County Republican Unit Committee, and Women of the Moose #683. Mrs. Vass was an animal lover and was known for helping others. She is survived by her son, Stephen S. Vass, of Saltworks. She was predeceased by a brother, Benjamin C. Mears and a cousin, Thomas E. Beloat. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Belle Haven Cemetery with Rev. Judy Worthington officiating.
