Mrs. Margaret Sturgis Kelley, 82, wife of the late John Thomas Kelley and a resident of Painter, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Memphis, Tenn. A native of Painter, she was the daughter of the late William Sturgis and the late Fannie LeCato Sturgis. Mrs. Kelley was a retired Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service at Painter. She was a life long member of Painter-Garrison's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kelley is survived by a son, John Thomas Kelley, Jr. and his wife Linda of Memphis, Tenn., a sister, Ann Lesner and her husband Howard of Ft. Myers, Fla., two grandsons, John David Kelley and his wife Shannon of Boston, Mass., Brian Thomas Kelley and his wife Amy of New York, N.Y., and two great grandchildren, John "Jack" and Claire Kelley both of Boston, Mass. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 26, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with the Rev. Clarence Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Saturday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Margaret Sturgis Kelley can be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements made by Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore.
