Mabel Blackwell Colonna

Mabel Blackwell Colonna, 91, wife of William Tyler Colonna and a resident of Onancock, VA, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Daugherty, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Blackwell and the late Minnie Simpson Blackwell. Mrs. Colonna was a member of Onley Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, William T. Colonna, Jr. of Onancock, Gregory Keith Colonna of Centertown, KY; five grandchildren, David Ira Smith, Jr., Dawn S. Justis, Deanna Smith Custis, Kelly Colonna, Gloria Jean Colonna; 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Mrs. Colonna was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Colonna Smith and a son, Dale Parks Colonna. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Bob Smoot officiating. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 til 8:30. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Broadway Baptist Church, c/o Penny Fowler, P.O.
