Mabel Bryan Ashby

Mabel Bryan Ashby, 90, wife of the late Page Cornelius Ashby and a resident of Stewart's Wharf, VA, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Donald Bryan II and the late Elizabeth Davis Bryan. She retired from Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Ashby is survived by her son, Page Bryan Ashby Sr. of Spartanburg, SC, and her daughter, Elizabeth Bryan Ashby Quinn of Stewart's Wharf; three grandchildren, Page Bryan Ashby Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Boiling Springs, SC, John Hunter Ashby and his wife, Mary, of Spartanburg, and Ashby Powell of Machipongo, VA; five great-grandchildren, Spencer, Thomas, and Ben Ashby, and Brady and Jacob Powell. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Ballard Ashby. Mrs. Ashby was of the Episcopalian faith. A private service will be held at a later date at the Franktown Cemetery.
