Luther L. Buskey, Jr., 86, husband of Sylvia Lentz Buskey and a resident of Norfolk, VA, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at his daughter's residence in Cape Charles, VA surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Luther L. and Susan S. Buskey and the late Robert and Miriam Ellis. He was a Veteran of World War II and Korean conflict, retired Norfolk Police Officer, and retired from Decker, Cardon, and Weintraub. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Linda L. Buskey of Cape Charles, Catherine Shirley of Mattoon, IL, Marc Carter and his wife, Lisa, of Springfield, IL, Sharon Carter of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters, Doris Hubbeling of Springfield, VA, Sara Perkinson and her husband, W. Coley, of Warrenton, NC; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis of Cape Charles, Ethan Ervin and his wife, Sara, of Mattoon, Lauren Carter of Springfield, Anna Carter of Springfield; one great granddaughter, Chloe Ervin of Mattoon; four nieces, Susan Sellew and her husband, Paul, Deborah Miller and her husband, Paul, April Perkinson, Donna Rogers and her husband, David; and three nephews, William Perkinson and his wife, Maria, David Perkinson and his wife, Lynn, and Jeffrey Hubbeling and his wife, Jana. A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday, November 7, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 601 Tazewell Avenue, Cape Charles, Virginia with Reverend Robert Coniglio officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Mr. Buskey was a true Southern gentleman who loved his country, his family and his friends.
