Lorna Baker

September 3, 1938 — November 10, 2024

Lorna June Kellam Baker was called home to be with God on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born September 3, 1938 in Willis Warf, VA to Chandler Kellam and Stella Bloxom Kellam.

Lorna loved to live life and gave her all in everything that she did. Early in life was a cheerleader at Cape Charles High School and loved football with her favorite team being the Kansas City Chiefs.

After having her children, Lorna became Post Mistress of Seaview post office at Lewis's country store then proceeded to go on to continue her education at Eastern Shore Community College. Lorna accomplished many passions.

After college, Lorna moved to Richmond, VA, and pursued her love for children as an Occupational therapist for some years. She was the first top sales woman at Richmond Ford & top sale woman at Home Beneficial Life Insurance company before retirement. She then went on and in her 70's took a course with the City of Richmond Police department and then passed the course in the Senior FBI department. She was only one hour away from obtaining her pilot’s license.

Lorna and her husband, Jerry moved to Clifton Forge, VA & owned the Buckhorn country store and campground for many years, enjoying selling antiques, scooping ice cream for folks and having bluegrass events for all to enjoy.

For health reasons they relocated back to Richmond until the passing of her husband.

In her final years, Lorna settled back on the Eastern Shore to be with her family. Here she continued to love life, being the first one at a yard sale! She loved reading her Bible, working on jigsaw puzzles and going her church, the Travis Chapel in Oyster and after sadly closing, beginning the rest of her faithful service at Lower Northampton Baptist Church. She loved her church family.

Lorna leaves behind her loving family. Son, Thomas Ray Lewis Jr., aka Fig, daughters, Terri Mullen (Kermit), Beverly Walker (Tom). Grandchildren, Jennifer Crumb (Joe), Becky Crumb (Raymond), Summer Walton (Christopher) and their father, Herman Walker Jr., Emily Burks (Bryce), Colton Collins & Nick Collins (Haylie), Taryn Randall and Cheyenne Mullen. Also survived by her beloved cousins, Jimmy Bundick, PC Kellam, Vickie, Tina & Donna Sue. Also her beloved pets, Mickey, Minnie and Izzy.

Lorna was predeceased by her husbands, Thomas R Lewis Sr and Jerry Baker, and her faithful friend, Kenny Rankin.

Lorna also wanted to thank the physicians, nurses and all of the wonderful support staff in the ICU and med surg at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.
