Leonard A. Caccioppo, Jr.

Leonard Anthony Caccioppo, Jr., 45, of Athens, Al., and Machipongo, Va., passed away Saturday Feb. 10, 2007 in Athens. A native of Queens, New York, he is the son of Alberta Varin Caccioppo and the late Leonard Anthony Caccioppo of Machipongo. Mr. Caccioppo was a nuclear instructor technician at Tennessee Valley Authority Nuclear Plant. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran. Other than his mother, he is survived by two daughters; Nicole Caccioppo and Christina Caccioppo, both of Washington State, a sister, Trudy Hickman and her husband John of Cape Charles, three brothers; Charles Caccioppo of Jacksonville, Fl., James Caccioppo of Virginia and Dennis Caccioppo of Elizabeth City, NC, a niece, Shannon Hickman and two nephews; John Hickman, IV and Jacob Caccioppo. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Feb. 21, 2007 at 11:30 am from the Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home with Father J. Michael Breslin officiating. Family will join friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
