Lena Townsend Parks, 92, wife of the late Harold A. Parks, and a resident of Exmore, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007. A native of Newark, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Horace Townsend and the late Manolia Bassett Townsend. For thirty-five years, she and her husband were owners and operators of the Ben Franklin Store in Exmore. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a volunteer in the gift shop at Shore Memorial Hospital. In 1965, Mrs. Parks was predeceased by a son, Harold Trent Parks. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Parks Pusey of Onancock, Virginia, three grandchildren, Gayle P. Crutchley and husband Bobby of Melfa, Virginia, Stacy A. Pedrozo and husband Pete of Kapolei, Hawaii, W. Trent Pusey and his wife Amy of Salisbury, Maryland; seven great grandchildren, Kyle and Jake Crutchley of Melfa, Peyton and Logan Pedrozo of Kapolei, Caroline, Nicholas, and Nathan Pusey of Salisbury; a sister, Virginia T. Sturgis of Snow Hill, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Parks, conducted by Reverend Elizabeth P. Freund, will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Epworth United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Trinity Garden of Memory in Newark, Maryland at 1:30 PM.
