Keith Merritt

Daniel Keith Merritt, 80, husband of Barbara Ann Snover Merritt and a resident of Townsend, VA, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his residence. A native of Chincoteague, VA, he was the son of the late Everett Merritt and the late Oneita Daisy Merritt. He was retired U. S. Coast Guard, self-employed electrician and former electrical inspector. He was deacon and member of Lower Northampton Baptist Church, Past Master and member of Capeville Masonic Lodge #107 AF & AM, Past Patron of Order of the Eastern Star Northampton Chapter #2, member of Eastern Shore Royal Arch Chapter #12, Chesapeake Commandery #28, Edward S. White Counsel #316 AMD, District Deputy Grand Master of the 13th Masonic District, District Deputy Grand High Priest and District Deputy Grand Commander. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karen Castro of San Diego, CA, Deborah Ann Merritt of Parker, CO; a son, Daniel Albert Merritt and his wife, Teena, of West Caldwell, NJ; a brother, Samuel A. Merritt of Parksley, VA, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by a sister, Agnes Rose Lane. A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Lower Northampton Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417 or Lower Northampton Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Anne Gray, P.O.
