Kathryne Drummond Wallace, 94, wife of the late Elmer D. "Slubby" Wallace and a resident of Concord Wharf, VA, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Pungoteague, VA, she was the daughter of the late Simpson Drummond and the late Edna Earle Doughty Drummond. She was former owner of Wallace Grocery and a member of Pungoteague United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wallace is survived by two grandchildren, Denise B. Lewis and her husband, Jerry, of Cape Charles, VA, James L. "Jay" Burroughs, Jr. of Eastville, VA; one brother, Frank Drummond of Pungoteague; two great- grandchildren, Kelley Lewis and J.D. Lewis, both of Cape Charles; one nephew, Roy W. Drummond, Jr.; two nieces, Debbie D. Beasley, Fran Drummond; and a special friend, Brenda Keen. She was predeceased by a daughter, Norma W. Burroughs; a brother, Roy W. Drummond, and a sister, Sarah Ann Whitfield. A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Johnson's United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating.
