Katherine Huffman

Katherine Smith Huffman, 69, wife of the late William E. Huffman and a resident of Bloxom, VA, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Willis Wharf, VA, she was the daughter of the late Elsworth M. Smith and the late Katherine Cottee Smith. She was a home health aide and a member of First Baptist Church in New Church, VA. She is survived by three children, Kathy H. Shelton and her husband, Gene, of Painter, VA, William C. "Billy" Huffman and his wife, Evelyn, of Melfa, VA, Greg Huffman of Bloxom; two brothers, David Smith of Willis Wharf, Jack Smith of Cheriton, VA; a sister, Joyce Ann Hapeman of Elmira, NY; three grandchildren, Tina Shelton, Jenny Huffman, Josh Huffman; and a devoted friend, Grover L. Lafferty, Jr. of Bloxom. She was predeceased by a daughter, Angela Scott Huffman, and two grandsons, Gene Paige Shelton, Jr. and Michael James Huffman. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P. O.
