Katherine Henderson Carter, 75, a resident of Nassawadox, VA, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Nassawadox, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Carey Henderson and the late Mary Ferebee Henderson. She was a retired office manager for Dr. Stephen Boyer and member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Marietta Carter and her husband, Gregory Linde, of Branchburg, NJ; a son, Sam Stuart Carter, Jr. and his wife, Nadine, of Mechanicsville, VA; four grandchildren, Ben and Kevin Linde, both of Branchburg, Alicia Toast and Zachary Spencer, both of Mechanicsville and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Carey Henderson Letteri.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Red Bank Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John M. Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends will join family at Doughty Funeral Home Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
