June Hopkins Parkerson

June Hopkins Parkerson, 81, wife of the late George "Toothpick" Parkerson, Jr. and a resident of Keller, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at her residence. A native of Keller, she was the daughter of the late George and Lillian Dize Hopkins. She was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Mears Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Donna P. Booth and her husband, Harry, of Heathsville, VA; a son, Daniel H. Parkerson and his wife, Sandra, of Painter, VA; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a special caregiver and companion, Toni Thompson. Mrs. Parkerson was predeceased by a son, Dean Lee Parkerson. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Hollies Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Suzanne Spencer officiating. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30.
