June C. Hafer

June C. Hafer, age 66, of Cape Charles, died on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at her home.

Mrs. Hafer was born in West Jefferson, N.C. on June 24, 1938, daughter of the late Preston Lambert. A talented homemaker, she also was a member of the Moose Lodge in Exmore. Mrs. Haffer greatly enjoyed NASCAR and and was a fan of Jeff Gordon.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Joseph Hafer; 7 children, Michael Hafer, William J. Hafer, Robert Hafer, Mitchell Hafer, Sharon Hafer, Barbara Fisher and Cathy Hafer; 3 brothers, Wayne Lambert, Gene "Chris" Lambert and Richard Lamber; 2 sisters, Linda Johnson and Rebecca Smith; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today Feb. 12, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
