Julius A. DeBoodt, 79, a resident of Sun City, FL and of Jamesville, VA, passed away July 28, 2009, in Sun City Center, FL, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Maurice and Rachel DeBoodt. He was born in Canada and raised in Belgium. After service in the Belgium Army, he attended trade school and became a skilled cabinet maker. At the age of 25 he immigrated to the United States where he continued his trade and his education and became a US citizen. The past 25 years were spent with his wife at their winter home in Florida participating in numerous community activities and enjoying summers at their residence at Battle Point on Virginia's Eastern Shore. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Fizer DeBoodt; his daughter Dr. Jennifer DeBoodt of Tampa, FL; step children Sandra Parks, Sheilla Taylor and J.W.Wilson of the Eastern Shore, Kathryn Woodall of Spout Spring, VA; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A Mass was held on August 1,2009 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City, FL. A Memorial service for the Eastern Shore family and friends, will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Jamesville, VA. The Rev.
