Julia S. Smith

Julia Saunders Smith, 85, wife of the late Elmer Lee "Tap" Smith and a resident of Exmore passed away Monday evening at Heritage Hall Health Care in Nassawadox. Mrs. Smith, a native of Willis Wharf was the daughter of the late George T. Saunders and the late Emma Lewis Saunders. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Charlotte S. Shelton of Willis Wharf and Ellen S. Lambert and her husband Wayne of Exmore, three sisters, Mary S. Williams of Chesapeake, Va. Georgie S. Stevens and her husband Conway of Keller, Va., Dora S. Bell and her husband Robert Lee of Keller, Va., three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Saunders and a granddaughter, Julia Anne Jones Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday August 24, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Maranatha Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Muender officiating. Interment will be private. Family will join friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Smith may be made to Maranatha Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1422, Exmore, Va. 23350 or Hospice of the Eastern Shore, P.O.
