Juanita West

Juanita Moore West, 81, wife of the late Joe Harvey West, Sr., of Marsh Street, Grafton, WV, formerly of Cheriton, VA passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Grafton City Hospital. She was born December 18, 1932 in Bayview, Northampton County, VA and was the daughter of the late John Matthews Moore, Jr. and the late Maggie Elizabeth (Elliott) Moore. Juanita worked at the N.A.M. Hospital as an LPN and was also a minister. She was a member of the Grafton Assembly of God Church and enjoyed her family, serving others, reading, and cross stitching. She is survived by three children, Joe Harvey West, Jr. and his wife, Pamela, Elizabeth Ann Smith, and Kevin Thomas West, all of Grafton; one brother, John Matthews Moore, III and his wife, Sandra, of Louisville, KY; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, John Howard West; a grandson; a great-grandson; a brother, Robert F. Moore; and one son-in-law, David A. Smith. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home in Cape Charles with Reverend Joe West officiating. Interment will follow in Cape Charles Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
