Joyce Saunders, 78, a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA. A native of Wardtown, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Voyles, Sr. and the late Ruby Fluhart Voyles Mears. She was a member of Hollies Baptist Church.
She is survived by two children, Judy Hinman and her significant other, John Powers, of Pocomoke City, MD, Dan Belote and his wife, Donna, of Cheltenham PA; four sisters, Ethel M. Schuster of Melfa, Hazel Smack of Parksley, Shirley Anderson and her husband, Wayne, of Melfa, Margaret Isabella and her husband, Jack, of Painesville, OH and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Caleb Horne officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses, c/o Doughty Funeral Home, PO Box 633, Exmore, VA 23350.
