Josie Doughty Lovell, 76, wife of George H. "Harry" Lovell and a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. A native of Craddockville, VA, she was born to the late George Wilson Doughty and the late Margaret Josephine Melson Doughty and was raised by the late Davis L. Webb and the late Edna M. Webb. She was a retired Registered Nurse for Northampton Accomack Memorial Hospital for 20 years, Accomack County Health Department for 17 years, valedictorian of her nursing school class, a member of Onancock Baptist Church and a member of Red Hats. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Tabitha L. Paranzino of Melfa; a son, William Davis Lovell and his wife, Tracy, of Melfa; three sisters, Nancy D. Camden and her husband, Fred A., of Belle Haven, VA, Alma Phene Martin and her husband, Eddie, of North Carolina, Jane Killmon and her husband, Bobby, of Pungoteague, VA; an aunt, Jackie Melson Farlow of Melfa; five grandchildren, Matthew Paranzino, Christopher Paranzino, Joanna Paranzino, Jennifer Lovell, and Sarah Grace Lovell. Mrs. Lovell was predeceased by a brother, T.M. "Tuck" Doughty and a sister, Mabel Gray Killmon. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Onancock Baptist Church with Pastor Sean McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery.
