Joseph James Stracuzzi, Jr.

December 2, 1952 — February 5, 2016

Joseph James Stracuzzi Jr., 63, husband of Gretchen Marie Stracuzzi and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 5, 2016 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph James Stracuzzi Sr. and the late Delores Chrobak Stracuzzi. Joe was currently employed by Perdue Farms in Accomac, VA and prior to moving to Virginia in 2003, by Branchburg Township Public Works in New Jersey. He was known best as being a true family man who enjoyed fishing, boating, singing the oldies and joking with his family and friends. He was an avid lover of sports.

In addition to his loving wife of 33 years, he is survived by five children, Dina Stracuzzi and her fiancé, Lane Farlow, Kristy Linney and her husband, Bill, Joseph Stracuzzi, Nicholas Stracuzzi and his wife, Kaila, Mark Stracuzzi and three grandchildren, Joseph, Harlee and Anthony.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend James W. Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Greenbrier Tower II, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320 or the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
