John Milton "Sonny" Simpson

John "Sonny" Milton Simpson, Jr., 81, of Exmore, Virginia, passed away August 3, 2011 at Arcadia Nursing Center. A native of Exmore, he was the son of the late John M. and Hilda Chesser Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a retired truck driver, member of Community Fire Company of Exmore, and a veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include two daughters, Janette Faye (James) Campbell of Gibsonia, PA and Linda Paige Hobaugh of Tarentum, PA; three sisters, Alline Futch of Tampa, FL, Sharon Simpson and her husband Wayne of Withams, VA, and Shirley Simpson of Parksley, VA; two grandchildren, Paige Nichole Campbell, and James Roland Albert Campbell, both of Gibsonia; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Simpson was predeceased by two sisters, Alverta " Micky" Colonna and Nancy Isdell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore, with the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service.
