John Edward Payne

John Edward Payne, 62, husband of Kathy Evans Payne and a resident of Eastville, VA, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Eastville, he was the son of the late Louis G. and Bessie Parkerson Payne. Before retiring, he was a police captain for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. He was a member of Franktown United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William "Brad" Payne of Eastville; two nephews, Adam Payne and his wife Alicia, and Jason Payne, all of Keller, VA. He was predeceased by a son, John Evan Payne and a brother, James C. Payne. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 24th at 11:00 AM at the graveside of Johnson's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Machipongo with the Rev. Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Family will join friends Friday evening at the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore from 7 to 8:30.
