John Irving English

John Irving English, 65, husband of Mary K. English and a resident of Machipongo, VA, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015. A native of Princeton, IL, he was the son of the late James Cyril English and the late Naomi Hillman English. He was director of international marketing, a small business owner, and a teacher. John had many interests. As a young man, he earned a private license to fly and eventually became a Lieutenant in the US Air Force. He graduated with a business degree from Illinois State University and earned his Master's Degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Marketing "Thunderbird". Through his career, he traveled worldwide. John was a family man. He treasured his time with his wife, children and grandchildren above all. He is survived by five children, Neil English and his wife, Annette, of Wexford, PA, Jennie Outten and her husband, Matthew, of Los Altos, CA, James English and his wife, Tiffany, of Auburn, CA, Mitra English of Chincoteague, VA, Layla English of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, James English and his wife, Gail, of Hayden Lake, ID; a sister, Eda Ricketts and her husband, Don, of St. George, UT; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
