Shaw and her husband David of Craddockville, Virginia and John Ellis Drewer Jr. of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Troy Jay Farlow and his wife Dr. Laura Kerbin of Williamsburg, Virginia and Amanda Drewer Shaw of Charleston, South Carolina; a sister, Anne D. Sterling and her husband Bill of Cedarview, Virginia; three nieces and four nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews, recently a great-great nephew; and many special cousins. He was predeceased by a brother and business partner, Newman Henry Drewer.
