John James Cooper III

John James Cooper III, 87, husband of Lois Eckenrode Cooper and a resident of Pungoteague, VA, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his residence. A native of Bay Shore, NY, he was the son of the late John James Cooper, Jr. and the late Virginia Wicks Cooper. He was retired from a long career in the financial industry.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three sons, Peter Cooper and his wife, Paula, of East Islip, NY, Thomas Cooper of Pungoteague, Robert Cooper of Pungoteague and two grandsons, Daniel Cooper of Colorado and Ryan Cooper of East Islip.

He will be remembered by all who knew him for his great sense of humor, quick wit and vast store of useless knowledge. A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Bay Shore, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern Shore of Virginia Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 1299, Exmore, VA 23350.
