John Francis Anderson Jr.

John Francis Anderson, Jr., 57, a resident of Painter, VA, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at McGuire Veterans Medical Center in Richmond, VA surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of John F. Anderson, Sr. of East Greenwich, RI and the late Barbara Rice. He was a waterman and carpenter, a member of the Eastern Shore Watermen's Association, and a U. S. Marine Veteran having served in Vietnam. In addition to his father, he is survived by a devoted companion of 23 years, Dottie Bott Travis of Painter; three sisters, Christianne Anderson of Jacksonville, FL, Jody Wilkett of McAlester, OK, Bonnie J. Anderson of East Greenwich; four children, Elsa Lee Anderson of Texas, and Ivar Nathaniel Anderson of Canada, Justin and Kristen Travis, both of Painter; grandchildren, Tristan and Cheyenne Nesbitt, both of Texas, and Brynna Travis of Painter. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Pastor Bobby Carroll Huether officiating. Memorials may be made to the S.P.C.A.
