Joanne C. Spray

Joanne Catherine Spray, 70, wife of Dale Spray and a resident of Eastville, formerly of Cheboygan, MI, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at her residence after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. Mrs. Spray was born May 2, 1938 in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, the second of nine children. During her youth, the family moved to Cheboygan when her father was transferred to the paper mill. On October 25, 1958 she married Robert Dale Spray. She was employed by Cheboygan County, serving as county clerk for 24 years and retiring in 1999 after 26 years of service. She loved sewing, gardening, playing golf and finishing woodworks that Dale made in their home wood shop. She also traveled to visit their grandchildren and recently spent the past 5 years living on the Chesapeake Bay in Eastville, VA. Other than her husband, she is survived by 4 children, Michele and Hank Lindeman of Eastville, VA, Jeanine and Mark Leneski of Virginia Beach, VA, Tim and Angela Spray of O'Fallon, MO, Patrick and Natalie Spray of Conyers, GA; 6 grandchildren, Paige and Gretchen Leneski, Jonathan and Hannah Spray, Madison and Lindie Jane Spray; three brothers, Marty Mollen, Billy Mollen and his wife Shirley of Cheboygan, Tim Mollen and his wife Ruth of St. Helen, MI; 4 sisters, Janet Hebert and her husband Joe, Patty Gabis and her husband Dave, all of Cheboygan, Jean Kelso and her husband Don of Mackinaw City, MI, Jackie Aldrich and her husband Ron of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Blanche Mollen, a brother, John and sister, Susan. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date in Cheboygan, MI.
