Jimmy Robert Kelley, 82, husband of Clara Anita Stephenson Kelley and a resident of Painter, VA, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his residence. A native of Quinby, VA, he was the son of the late Henry M. Kelley and the late Myrle Grace Killmon Kelley. He was a retired United States Army Master Sergeant, founder and former owner of Shore Saw & Mower, member of V.F.W. and Vietnam Veterans.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffery Kelley and his wife, Rita, of Silver Beach, VA; nine grandchildren, Jimmy R. Kelley III of Dallas, TX, Candace Bruns and her husband, Rob, of Fulton, MO, Anita Lee and her husband, Andrew, of Columbia, MO, Meagan Kelley and her companion, Michael Reeves, of Cape Charles, VA, Gregory N. Kelley, Jr. of Pungoteague, VA, Shannon Janene Farlow of Ocean City, MD, William Gary Stauffer, Jr. and his wife, Jacquiline, of Pungoteague, Lee Sturgis and his wife, Lori Ann, of Painter, Michelle Williams and her husband, Burley, of Salisbury, MD; a daughter-in-law, Paulette I. Kelley of Pungoteague; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Kelley was predeceased by three children, Gregory N. Kelley, Jimmy Robert Kelley, Jr. and Kathy Kelley.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Kelley Family Cemetery, 30175 Harborton Road, Pungoteague, with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
